KYC & AML Policy — Toonie Bet CA (2026)
This page explains the KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) checks that Tobix Limited performs on Toonie Bet players. It is educational and refers to the operator’s process — it does not apply to toonie-bet.ca directly, because this site does not process deposits or accept player money.
1. Why KYC exists at Toonie Bet
Toonie Bet operates under Tobique Gaming Commission Licence №0000050. Every licensed operator is required to verify the identity, age, and residency of its players and to monitor for suspicious activity. This protects the player (against account takeover) and the regulator (against money laundering).

2. Documents you’ll need to submit
- Government-issued photo ID — Canadian driver’s licence, passport, or provincial identity card. Both sides, in colour, edges visible.
- Proof of address — utility bill, bank statement, or lease agreement dated within the last 3 months, showing your name and current address.
- Proof of payment method — for the deposit method you first used (e.g. Interac e-Transfer confirmation email or a masked bank statement).
- For crypto deposits — screenshot of the wallet address you sent from.
3. When KYC is triggered
Most players are asked to verify at the point of the first withdrawal. Occasionally verification is requested earlier — for example after a large deposit or a mismatched geolocation.
4. How long verification takes
Tobix Limited’s published window is 24-72 hours. In independent reviewer benchmarks and our own representative test the median is closer to 18 hours once all documents are legible and match the account details (representative simulation, not audited transaction). Blurry photos, expired IDs, or address mismatches cause almost every rejection we’ve seen.
5. AML monitoring — FINTRAC + PIPEDA
Tobix Limited monitors transaction patterns for AML compliance. Very large single deposits, structured deposits (many small ones designed to avoid a threshold), or deposits from a source that doesn’t match your player profile can trigger a source-of-funds request. In Canada the FINTRAC reporting threshold for cash transactions is C$10,000; licensed gambling operators apply their own risk-based thresholds beneath that.
Data collection for KYC is governed on the Canadian side by PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) — the federal privacy law that sets what a business can collect, how it must be stored, and your right to access and correct it. See our privacy policy for how toonie-bet.ca (this review site) handles data separately from the operator.
6. Politically Exposed Persons (PEP)
If you’re identified as a PEP (senior government official, close relative), the operator will apply enhanced due-diligence, including source-of-wealth checks. This is standard across every regulated operator globally — not specific to Toonie Bet.
7. Why an account can be frozen
- Failed KYC (documents don’t match).
- Suspected duplicate account.
- Bonus abuse pattern flagged by their fraud team.
- Geolocation mismatch (e.g. VPN detected).
8. How to appeal a rejection
Contact Toonie Bet support directly. Keep your case number. If unresolved, players can escalate to the Tobique Gaming Commission — see the operator’s Terms and Conditions for the escalation contact.
9. Prepare KYC before you deposit
Read our 3-minute Canadian sign-up walkthrough and our Interac e-Transfer withdrawal guide. Uploading documents before your first withdrawal request typically shaves 6-12 hours off the wait. If you want the full read of our review and scoring: our Toonie Bet 4.3 / 5 review.
